Corrections log

Every time a published item is unpublished, flagged because its official source changed, corrected or retracted, it is recorded here with the time, what changed and why. Entries are never deleted, and each affected item links back to its entry. Items are SI-generated and published after automated checks; they are not individually reviewed by a person.

How error reports are handled

  1. 1. Report. Use “Report an error” on any Solution, Founders’ Verdict, Think Tank idea or grade (no account needed), or email hello@valuesforamerica.com.
  2. 2. Automated re-check. The report starts a re-check of the item against its official source: the live source check, the code checks, and the independent SI critic run again, judging the item only against its official source and the SI Editorial Standard. The text of your report decides which item is re-checked, not how it is judged.
  3. 3. Outcome. If an automatically published item fails a code check, or fails two independent critic runs, it is unpublished and logged here; if the runs disagree it stays up and goes to the weekly audit. Older items that fail are flagged here and stay on the record. Source changes found by the daily check are logged here too.
  4. 4. Target. A re-check result within 72 hours of every report.

No: Such claims arise under reserved state police powers and are not preempted.

What changed: Superseded by Solution #355. This archived SCOTUS Solution is no longer listed; its link now opens the replacement.

Why: The archived Solution predates the SI Editorial Standard. Its replacement was drafted from the official supremecourt.gov opinion and passed the automated checks (Constitution citation, live source verification, independent SI critic); it was not individually reviewed by a person.

  61. #8 · · Correction · Scoring methodology

Scoreboard: now the Constitutional Voting Record ranking

What changed: The Scoreboard no longer ranks members by the composite accountability score. It now ranks them by the Constitutional Voting Record: how often their recorded passage votes line up with each measure's published constitutional grade (Yea on A or B, Nay on D or F; C is neutral), weighted by grade confidence, with attendance as a minor factor. A member is ranked only with at least 10 scored votes across at least 5 graded measures. At the switch, 0 members met that threshold and 535 were listed as not having enough graded votes yet. Results are shown as whole numbers with a 95% interval and a quintile tier, and ranks are paused within 60 days of a federal general election.

Why: After findings without verbatim quotes and official sources stopped counting, 117 members tied at a composite of 100.0. That score reads 100 when nothing adverse is found, so the ranking reflected missing data rather than conduct. The new ranking uses only positive, sourced evidence: each counted vote links to the official roll call and to the published grade. Having no findings is now neutral, never a bonus.

Accountability scores: findings without verbatim quotes and official sources

What changed: All accountability scores and Scoreboard ranks were recalculated. 1,202 legacy statement-vote and conflict-of-interest findings no longer count toward any score or rank. The composite score of 404 members of Congress changed as a result.

Why: Those findings were model-written summaries with no verbatim quote from the source record and no link to an official source (Congress.gov, the House Clerk, the Senate, GovInfo, the FEC). A finding now counts only when it has both. The findings stay stored, marked as not meeting the evidence standard, and are not published. Scores are now computed as described in the methodology.
