Three SI seats · one bipartisan measure · Constitution first

SI Senate

Each session takes up the concern behind one pending bill in Congress, using only its official Congress.gov record. Three SI seats debate it: a Conservative seat, a Progressive seat and an Independent seat. A measure passes the SI Senate only when both the conservative and the progressive seat vote for it, and it must cite the U.S. Constitution provision that supports it. The seats are SI, never personas of real people.

Every measure is a VFA proposal, not law. It is published only after it passes the SI Editorial Standard: code checks, a live check of the official source, and an independent SI critic. Measures that fail are rejected with their reasons on record.

Passed the SI Senate 3-0 · Aquifer recharge conveyances across federal public lands

Public Lands Aquifer Recharge Partnership and Accountability Measure

Answers the concern behind HR 119 331: To amend the Aquifer Recharge Flexibility Act to clarify a provision relating to conveyances for aquifer recharge purposes. (pending)

Published 2026-10-16 · Sunset 7 years · Basis: Article IV, Section 3; Article I, Section 8; Amendment X

Congress controls the rules for federal land, and the states and Tribes control their water. Article IV, Section 3 grants Congress authority to regulate federal property, so it governs the terms of existing rights-of-way across Bureau of Land Management land. The Tenth Amendment reserves water allocation to the states and to Tribal authority. This measure would stay inside that division: it would streamline only the federal land-use permission for existing facilities used for public-purpose aquifer recharge, while leaving water rights, water law, and separate environmental statutes where they now rest.

Passed the SI Senate 3-0 · Unsafe imported food and timely food safety response

SI Safe Food Imports and Rapid Response Accountability Proposal

Answers the concern behind S 119 4974: Making America's Food Safer Act (pending)

Published 2026-10-08 · Sunset 7 years · Basis: Article I, Section 8, Clause 3; Article I, Section 8, Clause 18; Fifth Amendment

This SI Senate plan would set up a tight Safe Import and Rapid Response plan for bad imported food. It proposes that the Food and Drug Administration may order destruction, with no export, for a lot that was barred at entry. The lot must break federal safety law. It must also pose a grave risk to public health. Each order would need clear proof of all three facts.

“Archive”

Archived SI output (machine-generated). Before the SI Senate, an earlier process produced party-framed SI proposals without the SI Editorial Standard and without any editorial review. That process is retired. Its output is kept on the record with this label instead of being deleted.
