Proclamation on Flag Day and National Flag Week, 2026 (Corrected Version)
To officially designate June 14, 2026 as Flag Day and the week beginning June 7, 2026 as National Flag Week, encouraging Americans to display the flag and participate in patriotic observances.
Bipartisan rationale: Both parties support honoring the flag and national symbols. This corrected proclamation clarifies the constitutional authority (Article II, Section 3) and includes a sunset clause and judicial review path, ensuring it remains a proper executive act without encroaching on legislative prerogatives. Institutional integrity is preserved by explicitly grounding the proclamation in the President's constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, rather than relying on implied powers.
