Proclamation on Flag Day and National Flag Week, 2026 (Corrected Version)

By the President of the United States of America A Proclamation Whereas the flag of the United States has been a symbol of liberty, justice, and national unity since its adoption on June 14, 1777; and Whereas the Congress, by joint resolution approved August 3, 1949 (36 U.S.C. 110), designated June 14 as Flag Day and requested the President to issue an annual proclamation calling for its observance; and Whereas the Congress, by joint resolution approved June 9, 1966 (36 U.S.C. 112), designated the week beginning June 7 as National Flag Week and requested the President to issue an annual proclamation calling for its observance; Now, Therefore, I, [President's Name], President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States, and in accordance with the requests of Congress, do hereby proclaim June 14, 2026, as Flag Day and the week beginning June 7, 2026, as National Flag Week. I call upon the people of the United States to display the flag and to observe the week with appropriate ceremonies and activities. This proclamation shall expire on June 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
