Proclamation on the 250th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Declaration of Independence

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation. On July 4, 2026, the United States will mark the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. This historic document, which proclaimed the colonies' separation from Great Britain and articulated the foundational principles of human liberty and self-government, remains the cornerstone of our national identity. In recognition of this milestone, I, [President's Name], President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim July 4, 2026, as a day of celebration and reflection. I call upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies, activities, and programs that honor the enduring legacy of the Declaration and the principles of freedom, equality, and democracy it enshrines.
